On Wednesday 16th October 2019, the Epidemiological Laboratory, Sudan (Epi-Lab) jointly coordinated a lecture at Africa University, the lecture on the Foundation of Spirometry that was conducted by Dr. Lindsay Zurba from PAN AFRICAN THORACIC SOCIETY (PATS) with the aim to equip Attendees in the application, measurement and interpretation of spirometry conducted in any setting in line with current African and international guidelines and stan; Provide skills, knowledge and specific competencies required to perform spirometry to international standards and guidelines. The guests (The head of scientific activities Dr. Asma Elsony, Dr. Hanaa Elsaddig, Epi-Lab lecture coordinator and Dr. Lindsay Zurba from PATS) were warmly welcomed by Dean Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Omer El-adil, Dr. Abdelmageed Osman Musa, associate Prof. Community Medicine and the president of the African Medical students association, (AMSA-IUA) Dr. Ssegujja Kirabo Idris. The lecture was more of a practical and interactive session and by the end of the lecture, the participants were fully equipped with the skills and knowledge of spirometry and ready for implementation.
